Viet Cong (VC)
Guerrilla irregulars
The Viet Cong in Hell Let Loose: Vietnam — guerrilla fighters who blend ambush, traps and local knowledge into North Vietnam's war effort. The irregular edge of the communist side.
Everywhere and nowhere.
The Viet Cong (VC) are the guerrilla element of North Vietnam’s side in Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, fighting alongside the regular NVA. Historically the Viet Cong waged an irregular war of ambush, traps and concealment, drawing on deep local knowledge of the jungle, paddies and villages — and that flavour informs how the communist side plays.
The irregular edge
Where the NVA represents disciplined, conventional force, the Viet Cong supply the unconventional edge: melting into terrain, striking from concealment along the trails and waterways the enemy is forced to use, and disappearing before a response can form. Combined with the side’s signature tunnel networks, it makes the communist team genuinely hard to pin down.
How this is represented
The developers have confirmed the war is fought between US forces and the North Vietnamese, with the Viet Cong part of that side. Exactly how the VC are modelled in-game — as distinct units, roles, or a flavour woven through the North Vietnamese team — has not been fully detailed, so this profile is marked expected. We’ll update it as official information lands.
