Command & Squads
Leadership System
Command and squads in Hell Let Loose: Vietnam — the layered leadership that coordinates 50 players. Commanders, squad leaders and the communication that wins matches.
Fifty players, one plan.
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is explicitly built around team communication and coordination over individual performance — and the command-and-squad structure is how fifty players become one army. It’s the system that has always set the franchise apart from run-and-gun shooters.
How leadership works
Players group into squads led by squad leaders, who set local objectives, mark targets and call for support. Above them, a commander steers the whole team’s strategy — where to push, what to build, how to spend supply. Good leaders are a force multiplier; a team that talks beats a team that doesn’t, even when it’s outgunned.
For new players this is the most important thing to understand: joining a squad, turning on your mic, and following the role plan will do more for your match than your aim. See our beginner’s guide to get started.
The precise command tools and how they translate to Vietnam’s helicopters, tunnels and rivers are still being detailed, so specifics are expected until launch.
