M79 Grenade Launcher

The M79 — affectionately the “blooper” — is a single-shot, break-action grenade launcher that lets a US soldier put an explosive round exactly where rifles can’t reach: behind a dike, inside a treeline, into a window. In Hell Let Loose: Vietnam it’s the infantry answer to the enemy fighting from prepared cover.

Used well, it cracks open the defended positions the NVA and Viet Cong rely on, flushing entrenched infantry so your squad can move. The trade-off is the single-shot reload, so pick your moments and stay supported.
