Riverine combat is a confirmed pillar of Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, with heavily armed patrol boats built for fighting on the rivers and deltas. On water-heavy maps like the Mekong Delta, the boats are the main way to move troops and firepower — and controlling them means controlling resupply and rotation.

A patrol boat combines transport with serious mounted firepower, letting it both ferry a squad and support it on arrival. The catch is exposure: out on open water, a boat is visible and channelled by the terrain, making it a prime target for RPGs and ambushes from the mangrove banks.
