Central Highlands
Highland hills
A Central Highlands map for Hell Let Loose: Vietnam — mist-shrouded forested ridges, red-dirt trails and remote firebases. Expected terrain and tactics for the hill country.
Take the high ground. Hold the firebase.
The developers have shown hills and highland terrain among the game’s environments, and the Central Highlands were a major theatre of the war. A highlands map trades open water and paddies for elevation: forested ridges, red-dirt trails and remote hilltop firebases wreathed in morning mist.
What to expect from the terrain
Elevation is the whole game here. Ridgelines command the valleys, firebases form natural strongpoints, and the trails that wind between them become predictable — and therefore dangerous — lanes of approach.
- Attacking: the high ground is the prize. Use helicopters to bypass the slopes and land above or beside an objective instead of grinding uphill into prepared fire.
- Defending: dig in on the heights with overlapping fields of fire, and use the terrain to canalise the enemy into your guns.
Specifics of any highlands map aren’t public yet, so this is the expected profile based on the terrain types shown. See the maps guide.
